Catherine Jahncke has been
playing the guitar since she was ten...well younger than that if
you count the styrofoam surf board with the plastic sword attached
as a fretboard. Playing the bass guitar is a relatively new adventure
for her that began in 2000 when she played with the blue grass
band Grasse Roots. She plays an early model Warwick with a cherry
body and wenge neck that is retrofited with Bartolini pickups,
and strung with Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats. To support her bass
guitar career, she teaches physics and does research on barium
titanate--a truly fascinating material.
